This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) outlines the guidelines and rules
when utilizing Lyft’s Artificial Intelligence tools (“Lyft AI”) including,
but not limited to, Lyft AI Assistant, Earnings Assistant, and Lyft
Advisor. This Policy incorporates and should be read in accordance with
the Lyft Terms of
Service and Privacy Policy. This Policy and your agreement to abide by
Lyft’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are in place for the protection
and benefit of Lyft and its customers. By using Lyft AI, you agree to
abide by these guidelines and rules. Lyft reserves the right to update
this Policy from time to time due to changes in vendor requirements,
applicable laws, regulations, guidance, standards, and/or best practices.
Use of Third Parties
When you choose to use Lyft AI, it is important that you understand that
Lyft AI is powered by integrations of AI systems provided by third-party
vendors, including, but not limited to, Anthropic and OpenAI. By using
Lyft AI you agree to abide by such third-party vendors’ terms and
conditions and acceptable use policies.
Customer Use and Responsibilities
Intended Use: The following is an
exhaustive list of the intended uses for Lyft AI:
- Obtain suggested answers to specific support-related questions.
- To connect with a customer support agent.
- Create optional driving plans.
- Obtain information on driving opportunities and busy areas.
- Create a custom ride type based on preferences.
Prohibited Use: The following are examples
of prohibited uses for Lyft AI (non-exhaustive). Lyft AI should not be
used:
- To solicit earning guarantees or any other binding commitments.
- To request ride opportunity guarantees.
- To make financial decisions including investment or tax advice.
- To make decisions regarding legal or other sensitive matters.

To generate content that violates someone else’s intellectual property
rights, including copying or closely mimicking copyrighted materials
without permission.

For any illegal or unsafe behaviors, including producing harassing or
violent content, malware and/or hacking activity, activity that could
result in economic harm, fraudulent or deceptive activity, plagiarism or
other dishonesty, disinformation, spam, activities that violate privacy,
classifying individuals based on protected characteristics and/or
otherwise in furtherance of a crime or activity deemed illegal in your
respective jurisdiction.

To attempt to override or circumvent safety filters or intentionally
drive the model to act in a manner that contravenes this Policy.
- To attempt to break or confuse Lyft AI tools.

To attempt to generate misinformation, compromise the accuracy or
integrity of Lyft AI, or to reveal proprietary and/or confidential
information of Lyft.
Customer Responsibilities: Each customer
has the sole responsibility to ensure that their usage of Lyft AI is in
compliance with their own legal obligations, standards, practices, and
internal guiding principles. The following are examples of customer
responsibilities related to the use of Lyft AI (non-exhaustive).

Customers should not rely solely on Lyft AI outputs for consequential
and/or critical decision-making that may result in high-risk outcomes as
there are inherent limitations with AI systems.

Customers should avoid relying entirely on Lyft AI-generated outputs for
making decisions without human review.

Customers are responsible for the content they choose to share with Lyft
AI and any actions taken by them as a result of the AI-generated output.

While all Customer provided inputs are treated in accordance with the
Lyft Privacy Policy, avoid inputting or requesting personal or sensitive
personal information, such as financial details, user information,
health-related data, or other private data, to protect privacy and
comply with data protection laws.

Customers are responsible for and should avoid use of Lyft AI for
high-risk and/or high-stakes activities, including activities with a
high-risk of physical harm or activities that could have a consequential
impact on the rights and freedoms of individuals’ legal status,
healthcare, social welfare and other freedoms protected under law.

Customers should ensure their use of Lyft AI complies with applicable
laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines, such as those related to
data protection, privacy and security, as well as adhering to
requirements in countries or regions where the use of AI has been
prohibited or otherwise limited.
Accuracy
Lyft cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of any AI output. While we
are consistently working to improve the accuracy and quality of the
content generated by Lyft AI, the use of our service may result in content
that does not accurately reflect real places or facts. By using Lyft AI,
you understand and agree that:

The content may not always be accurate. You should not rely on the
content produced as the sole source of truth or factual information.

You must evaluate the content for appropriateness and accuracy for your
use case before using or sharing content.

The content may be incomplete or inaccurate, and does not represent
Lyft’s views. If the content generated references any third party
products or services, it does not mean that Lyft endorses or is
affiliated with these third parties.
Compliance and Enforcement
Lyft reserves the right to suspend access to Lyft AI at any time if it is
determined, in good faith, that you have breached this Policy, the Lyft
Terms of Service, or the Lyft Privacy Policy, or if the use of Lyft AI
could risk or harm Lyft, its customers, or anyone else.
